Remove yourself from Merinfo – and don’t press “Återaktivera profil”
Short answer
Go to Merinfo’s removal page, tick the box and press “Gå vidare” (continue). Log in with BankID and choose “Radera min profil helt” (delete my profile completely). When you’re done, an “Återaktivera profil” (reactivate profile) button appears. Don’t press it, or you’ll be published again.
Merinfo shows your address, age, phone number, vehicles and who lives at the same address as you. You can remove yourself with BankID, and when we did, the profile disappeared immediately. But when you’re done, Merinfo shows a button that publishes you again.
How to remove yourself from Merinfo
- Open Merinfo’s page Ta bort mig från Merinfo.se (remove me from Merinfo).
- Tick the box next to Merinfo’s warning. The “Gå vidare” (continue) button stays greyed out until the box is ticked.
- Press “Gå vidare” and log in with BankID.
- Choose “Radera min profil helt” (delete my profile completely).
- Don’t press the “Återaktivera profil” (reactivate profile) button that appears when you’re done.
Kolla själv builds the Merinfo search for you, so you can check afterwards that you’re gone.
Don’t press “Återaktivera profil”
Once you’ve removed yourself, Merinfo shows an “Återaktivera profil” button. It does the opposite: Merinfo says that by reactivating your profile, you agree that Merinfo collects and processes your details again. If you pressed it by mistake, you can remove yourself again the same way.
Delete everything or hide parts
After BankID you get two choices:
- “Radera min profil helt” (delete my profile completely): you can no longer be found on Merinfo, and the profile and your details are removed from the site.
- “Justera min synlighet” (adjust my visibility): you hide only some details, for example your phone number, personal identity number, age, civil status, vehicles or who lives at the same address.
What stays
Merinfo itself says what isn’t removed:
- Companies. Company profiles you own or are linked to stay and can still be found. According to Merinfo, company details can’t be removed because they come from public sources.
- Your account. If you have a user account on Merinfo, it isn’t affected. You delete it under “Mina sidor” (my pages), or by emailing info@merinfo.se.
Like Ratsit and MrKoll, Merinfo also warns that companies using Merinfo for deliveries and agreements may find it harder to reach you once you’ve removed yourself.
Without BankID
Merinfo has a form for people without BankID:
- Download the form “Ansökan om att tas bort” (application to be removed).
- Fill it in.
- Send it with a copy of your ID to info@merinfo.se, or by post to Merinfo, Lona Knapes gata 5, 421 32 Västra Frölunda.
Merinfo says the rules on personal data don’t apply where they would conflict with constitutional protection, because the site holds a publishing certificate (utgivningsbevis). Since the EU Court’s ruling in July 2026, that is no longer a given. Where the law stands now.
What remains afterwards
- Google. Search results that lead to your Merinfo page can stay for a while, until Google reads the page again. You can ask Google to remove them. Here’s how.
- The Swedish Tax Agency. Merinfo’s data comes from public authorities, and it stays there. Anyone can ask Skatteverket for your address.
- Other sites. Ratsit, MrKoll, Hitta, Eniro and others show the same kind of data. Read how to remove yourself from them, or check where you’re listed straight away.
